I was locked out of my Substack after stoooooopidly changing my email and deleting the old ‘alias’ without switching everything over. Now I’m back for a quick tidbit on how everything is going.
General Search
I’ve mentioned before that I built a custom HTTPS server for Telifie. It wasn’t threading correctly, therefore allowing only one client connection at a time. This was a big impediment to releasing general search for testing. Done ✅
The web page parser (crawler) was sub-par so I gutted it and now we’re collecting a good amount of data. This is the last step towards general search. You have to have results to give results while complying with all the copyright shenanigans. This is happening in the background.
The model
I’ve code-named the Telifie machine learning model ‘Andromeda’. It will be proprietary for some time so I won’t go into much detail and I’m still learning how to structure it. There’s pencil to paper. Just need fingers to keyboard.
Greatest Challenge
Sam Altman laughed at an Indian startup for only having $10 million and trying to compete with ChatGPT. I’m not attempting to be in line with OpenAI, but it will certainly take a lot of computing power and money. Sure, I have $10 million if you divide that by 100,000. Additionally, Telifie won’t be a chat, it will function more neatly and assistant-like versus talking with a robot. I’m currently looking for grants to apply to.
Personally…
I’ve finished moving to Cincinnati and the startup scene is low-key busting. I’m so excited to get involved and have loved learning and discovering the businesses around here. I hope to make Cincinnati Telifie’s home. For now, I’m pulling a Jobs/Wozniak and will be building out of my studio apartment with two human-sized cats and the soon-to-be Mrs.
If you’ve read this or have been following along, I can’t explain how much that means to me and motivates me. I know that Telifie is very useful and unique, but I don’t have the power to push it to beta or public yet. It’s discouraging sometimes to be alone on this adventure and with that, I’ve decided to start looking for a co-founder.
